Neelam Sanjiva Reddy Memorial Lecture

Neelam Sanjiva Reddy Memorial Lecture is an annual event organised by the Academy of Grassroots Studies and Research of India (AGRASRI) in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, to commemorate the life and legacy of Shri Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, the 6th President of India (1977–1982) and the first Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh (1956-1960, 1962-1964). The lecture aims to honour his legacy as a leader who prioritized grassroots governance, rural development and public service, emphasizing his vision for decentralised democracy and rural empowerment. |
Purpose: Neelam Sanjiva Reddy Memorial Lecture serves as a platform to discuss topics related to public policy, parliamentary democracy, good governance, higher education, medical innovations, rural development and public service in PRI’s, reflecting Neelam Sanjiva Reddy’s commitment to value-based politics and rural prosperity in telugu speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Inauguration: Neelam Sanjiva Reddy Memorial Lecture series began in 2023 as part of the 110th birth anniversary celebrations of Neelam Sanjiva Reddy (born May 19, 1913) and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The first lecture was delivered by Dr. Mandali Buddha Prasad, Former Deputy Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, held on May 19, 2023, at Tirupati.
Significance: Neelam Sanjiva Reddy Memorial Lecture is typically accompanied by the conferment of Neelam Sanjiva Reddy State Awards in 5 categories, recognising policy-makers, jurists, educationalists, medical experts, panchayati raj officials for outstanding contributions in fields such as parliamentary democracy, good governance, education, judiciary, medicine and public service at the grassroots.
Notable Speakers: Reputed policy-makers, parliamentarians, jurists, educationalists, social scientists and panchayati raj officials are invited to deliver the lecture.

AGRASRI Foundation Day Lecture is an annual event on 12 November or other significant date in Tirupati with Regional Seminar / Workshop / Round-Table Meeting, organised by Academy of Grassroots Studies and Research of India (AGRASRI) to commemorate its establishment and highlight its mission in grassroots research, public policies, local governance and rural development in contemporary Andhra Pradesh.
